Win $100 in our summer recipe contest

Using a slow cooker instead of your oven saves energy and keeps your air conditioner from having to work extra hard while you cook. We like that. It also leads to some delicious results. We especially like that.

So we’re running a summer slow-cooker recipe contest to encourage tasty energy savings. You enter your best recipe by Saturday, June 21 (the official first day of summer), and we’ll choose a winner, to be announced July 7. We’ll award that winner a $100 Visa gift card. That could buy a whole lot of brisket for refilling your slow cooker. Or maybe a whole lot of socks—with a prize like that, the world is your hundred-dollar oyster, really.

We’ll also award $25 grocer gift cards to three runners-up. Which is nothing to sneeze at—unless you use it to buy pepper. (Forgive us. Contests make us lose all sense of decorum.)

Enter an appetizer, entrée, dessert—whatever you like. If you can make it in a slow cooker, it’s fair game for our contest. We’ll draw winners at random, and we’ll share the wealth by posting submitted recipes to our blog and Facebook page.

Use the form to enter. You’ll receive a confirmation that you’ve successfully submitted your recipe, and then we’ll be in touch if you’re chosen as our winner.

One entry per person, please, and you do need to be a member of one of our electric co-ops.

Let the slow-cooking begin.
